How Do I Join
the Write Place Community?

Become a Contributor

Scruffy Plume provides space for new authors who wish to gain exposure and feedback on their work. Accepted authors receive a page on the site where all stories submitted can be accessed by readers. Comments made by readers will be forwarded to the author.

Contributors may request to have their worked removed by sending an e-mail to the editor of Scruffy Plume.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Types of Work Accepted

We are looking for stories and poems that are appropriate for all ages. Material that is deemed offensive, indecent or otherwise objectionable will not be accepted for publication.

Contributors must warrant that all submissions are original work that have not been copied in whole or in part from other work or material.

Contributors under the age of 18 should have a parent or guardian review the information and give permission before work is submitted to Scruffy Plume for publication.


Copyright Protection

When work is submitted for publishing, the author maintains ownership of the copyright. It is not transferred to Scruffy Plume. The author grants Scruffy Plume a non-exclusive licence to publish the work.
Each submission will have a copyright notice printed on the page, but as with anything available to the public, there is a risk of copyright infringement.

How Do I submit a Story or Poem?

In submitting to Scruffy Plume, you guarantee that you are the owner of the copyright for that work and give Scruffy Plume a non-exclusive licence to publish the work.

E-mail the work to submit@scruffyplume.com

The subject of the e-mail must consist of the words Story for Scruffy Plume or Poem for Scruffy Plume.

Include the title, author's name and contact e-mail (if different) and a short biography.

Send the story or poem as an attachment in TEXT, RTF, Microsoft Word, or AppleWorks format. If an attachments cannot be sent, copy and paste the text into the body of the
e-mail.

A confirmation e-mail will be sent when the submission has been received.
