Copyright Protection
When work is submitted for publishing, the author maintains ownership of the copyright. It is not transferred to Scruffy Plume. The author grants Scruffy Plume a non-exclusive licence to publish the work.
Each submission will have a copyright notice printed on the page, but as with anything available to the public, there is a risk of copyright infringement.
Authors may wish to take the precaution of sending a hard copy to themselves by registered mail. Keep the receipt and attach it to the envelop when it arrives in the mail. Label the outside so that you remember its contents and file the unopened envelop away for safe-keeping. This provides an officially dated copy of your work in case proof of authorship is needed at a later date.
Authors should investigate copyright protection at one of the sites below.
