PREMIÈRE SCÈNE

LA FERME À KANSAS NARRATOR
Dorothy Gale lived in the midst of the great Kansas prairies with Uncle
Henry who was a farmer and Aunt Em who was the farmer’s wife.
When they stood in the doorway and looked around they could see
nothing but the great grey prairie on every side.
 ALTERNATE INTRODUCTION
 NARRATEUR
Dorothy Gale habitait au milieu des grandes prairies de Kansas avec son
oncle Henri qui était fermier et avec sa tante Em qui était fermière.
Quand on se mettait dans la porte de leur maison, on ne peut voir rien que
la grande prairie grise  de tous côtés.

TANTE EM
Que la prairie est grande et grise!
Je suis fatiguée. Je suis triste.

ONCLE HENRI
Il fait du vent, Emily. Regarde! Un grand cyclone!
Entre dans la cave! Où est Dorothy?

TANTE EM
Dorothy! Dorothy! Un cyclone!

ONCLE HENRI
Vite! Dans la cave!

ILS SORTENT.

DOROTHY ENTRE

DOROTHY
Toto! Toto! Mon petit chien! Toto!

ELLE TROUVE TOTO ET ELLE ENTRE DANS LA MAISON.
IL FAIT OBSCUR.

IL FAIT UN GRAND ORAGE.  IL Y A UN TORNADO.

 DEUXIÈME SCÈNE

NARRATOR
A great tornado carried the house with Dorothy and Toto far far away
from the grey Kansas prairie.

ALTERNATE

NARRATEUR
Un grand tornado enlève la maison avec Dorothy et Toto
très très loin des prairies grises de Kansas.

LA TERRE DES MUNCHKINS.
LES LUMIÈRES, LES COULEURS, UN ARC EN CIEL.

DOROTHY
Toto! Où est-ce que je suis?

ON ENTEND RIRE TOUT BAS LES MUNCHKINS.

DOROTHY
Ce n’est pas Kansas, Toto.

TOTO
Ouah! Ouah!

DOROTHY
Oh! C’est de beaux souliers rouges!

ELLE MET LES PIEDS NUS DANS LES SOULIERS.
ON ENTEND RIRE TOUT BAS LES MUNCHKINS.
TOTO ABOIE AUX PERSONNES QU’ON NE PEUT VOIR.

DOROTHY
Qu’est-ce que c’est, Toto?

LA MUSIQUE. UN BULLE ROSE.
GLINDA SE MONTRE PAR MAGIE.

DOROTHY
Zut alors!

GLINDA
Bonjour! Je m’appelle Glinda, la Sorcière du Nord.
Est-ce que tu es une sorcière gentille ou une sorcière mauvaise?

DOROTHY
Je ne suis pas sorcière. Je m’appelle Dorothy Gale.

GLINDA INDIQUE AVEC SON BATON
DEUX PIEDS EN CHAUSSETTES
SOUS UN DRAPEAU.

GLINDA
Mais la Sorcière Méchante est morte!

LES MUNCHKINS LES REGARDENT CURIEUSEMENT
DE TOUS CÔTÉS.

LES MUNCHKINS
La voilà! Formidable! Fantastique! Hourra!

DOROTHY
Qui est-ce, madame?

GLINDA
C’est les Munchkins!
Tu es une héroine nationale!

LES MUNCHKINS

DOROTHY

BOUM! IL FAIT SOMBRE.
LA SORCIÈRE MÉCHANTE ET LA PETITE PESTE
ENTRENT DANS LA SCÈNE.

DOROTHY
Zut alors! Qui est’ce?

GLINDA
C’est la Sorcière Méchante de l’Ouest.

LA SORCIÈRE
Ma soeur! Ma soeur! Où est ma soeur?

GLINDA
Voilà ta soeur sous la maison. Elle est morte.

LA SORCIÈRE
Morte! Morte!

ELLE LES REGARDE AVEC COLÈRE.

LES MUNCHKINS TREMBLENT DE PEUR.

TOTO
Ouah! Ouah!

LA PETITE PESTE
Animal!

LA SORCIÈRE
Qui a fait cela? Est-ce que c’est toi, Glinda?

DOROTHY
Pardon, madame. C’est - c’est moi.

LA SORCIÈRE
Aha!

ELLE MENACE DOROTHY AVEC SON BALAI.

GLINDA
Pouf! Va-t-en!

LA PETITE PESTE
Regarde! Elle porte des souliers de rubis!

LA SORCIÈRE
Les souliers de rubis! Donnez-les-moi!

ELLE ESSAIE DE LES ENLEVER MAIS ELLE REÇOIT
UN GRAND CHOC.

Peste!

LA PETITE PESTE RICANE JUSQU’À LA SORCIÈRE
LA REGARDE.

GLINDA
Méchante! Va-t-en!

LA SORCIÈRE
Revanche! Revanche! Au revoir, ma jolie.
Tu seras ma victime. Ha ha ha ha ha ha!

LA PETITE PESTE
Toi, et ton petit chien aussi!

ELLE HURLENT COMME LES LOUPS ET ELLES SORTENT.

DOROTHY
Je veux retourner à Kansas.

GLINDA
Non, ma chère.
Il faut visiter le grand Sorcier d’Oz.

DOROTHY
Oz? Où est’ce qu’il habite?

GLINDA
Il habite à la Cité d’ Émeraude.
